Clematis is a beautiful flowering liana, to which our culture has not yet assigned many meanings. And nothing interferes with the purity of my perception of it.
Clematis for me is about a reliable shelter from strangers’ eyes, about intimacy. Its flexible stems are very fragile, but with a reliable support, it confidently braids it and becomes a beautiful openwork wall, a powerful protection. In this somehow very harmonious and symbolic combination of two beginnings: tenderness and strength, fragility and power, beauty and usefulness, the intimate and the general.
